The Spinettes supported the launch of the New Actros with Rossetts at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2012.  They performed across the weekend and drew large crowds to the New Actros.  The girls sang in the rigid trailer of the New Actros Rigid, currently the only New Actros Rigid in the UK working with Arthur Spriggs and Sons.

The Spinettes sing songs spanning a few decades from the 1940’s to the 1960’s with a very unique sound and stage act.

Rossetts are now proud to become part of the Spinettes with a unique LWB Vito van supplied by Rossetts Mercedes-Benz for the girls to travel in.

We hope The Spinettes enjoy their new van as much as the crowds at Goodwood enjoyed their performances.  We are looking forward  to working with the band again soon.

The latest version of Commercial Motor that went on sale on the 4/10/12 covers two cases in which Rossetts are a part of.  The first being the Mercedes-Benz supplier to Hauliers Arthur Spriggs and Second to be the parts sponsor for the Bloodhound SSC project.

The team from Rossetts went to the Bentley Woodfair at the weekend, the weather on the Sunday was rainy but it did not dampen the spirits of the team.

We had on display two New Actros, the New Canter 4×4 and a Sprinter 4×4. ¬†The vehicles are popular in the wood trade, not only because of the fantastic payload the Fuso Canter offers but also the price.

For more information on the Fuso Canter please visit our website

We also brought with us a Vito Sport X, which boasts an impressive 224bhp from a V6.  Wherever we go this vehicle always creates a stir, and manages to become centre of attention.

Rossetts also had on display, a Used Mercedes Vito and Used Mercedes Sprinter, to show the public we do not deal just in the new market.

The 7.5-tonne Fuso Canter‚Äôs key ingredients of market-leading payload and compact footprint have made it the truck of choice for London FoodService ‚Äď but now it comes with a tasty extra, in the shape of an automatic transmission.

London FoodService is based near Heathrow Airport and supplies frozen, chilled and ambient products to the fast food sector, restaurants and schools. It is renowned for its certified Halal fresh chicken.

The fast-growing company runs seven fridge-bodied Fuso Canters with 7.5-tonne gross weights, all of which arrived via Aldershot Mercedes-Benz dealer Rossetts Commercials ‚Äď the German manufacturer‚Äôs UK network is also responsible for sales and support of the popular light truck range.

The latest two Canters are London FoodService‚Äôs first from the updated 2012 model range, so also its first to come fitted as standard with DUONIC transmissions ‚Äď the world‚Äôs first dual-clutch automatic gearbox for light trucks ensures a safer, smoother drive.

Both Canter 7C18 models are powered by range-topping 180hp engines and have insulated, single-compartment bodies which were built by Coolfreeze, of Manchester, and are maintained at operating temperatures of -18¬įC by GAH Javelinrefrigeration units. The body and fridge together weigh some 1,750kg, affording each vehicle a highly impressive, 3,200kg payload capacity.

Rossetts also supplied London FoodService’s five 3.5-tonne Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans, and will shortly deliver the operator’s biggest vehicles yet, a pair of 18-tonne Mercedes-Benz Axor 1824s, which will also have Coolfreeze bodies.

London FoodService distributes in and around London and the Home Counties, going as far afield as Bristol and Nottingham.

The company is also the sole distributor for Roosters Piri Piri, a well-known chain of healthy fast-food restaurants. London FoodService is currently supplying to over 30 of the chain’s franchised outlets.

‚ÄúWe were using vehicles supplied by another manufacturer but because of the benefits it offered we changed to the Fuso Canter last year,‚ÄĚ explained Managing Director Khalid Mirza.

“Most of the outlets we serve are in busy urban areas. The fact that the Canter is narrower than most 7.5-tonne trucks is a big advantage when making deliveries, while it also means our drivers can negotiate width restrictions with ease.

‚ÄúThe Canter also offered a significant increase in payload, compared to our previous trucks,‚ÄĚ he continued. ‚ÄúWe make full use of this extra capacity, which has allowed us to increase the efficiency of our operation ‚Äď the Canter is very fuel-efficient too. It also carries more so we make fewer journeys, which allows us to minimise our carbon footprint.

‚ÄúThe new automatic transmission has been very well received by our drivers. They spend a lot of time in heavy traffic and as well as making their lives easier, it will also improve safety by leaving them free to concentrate fully on what‚Äôs going on around them.‚ÄĚ

Mr Mirza added: ‚ÄúThe service received from Lee Davison, the Area Truck Sales Manager at Rossetts Commercials, has been remarkable.”
